Vorige week heeft Microsoft officieel gemeld  dat .NET 7, de  versie van hun open-source, platformonafhankelijke applicatieframework en uitgebracht in november 2022,  dat zij de ondersteuning zullen gaan stoppen per 14 mei 2024 as. Na deze datum zal Microsoft stoppen met het uitgeven van eventuele verdere onderhoudsupdates, inclusief kritieke beveiligingsoplossingen of technische assistentie voor .NET 7. .

Op 29 maart 2024 bracht Microsoft versie 8.0.0 uit van hun open-source MAUI Community Toolkit. De nieuwe versie voegt aanraakanimatiegedrag, een herschreven Snackbar-component en veel bugfixes toe.

Microsoft heeft Visual Studio 17.10 Preview 2 uitgebracht. Deze release bevat functies met betrekking tot door GitHub Copilot aangedreven pull-aanvragen, ondersteuning voor SQL Server Developer Tools in VS op ARM64 en ondersteuning voor Garbage Collection Insights in Managed Memory Window
